I would also like to see a movie made on the life of Omar Henry. His short life would make a very sad but intriguing story.

Carlos Monzon it would make Raging bull look like sesame street. A new Jack Johnson flick, talk about the original trail blazer. Joe Louis needs a new movie as well. A modern but accurate look at his life. Joe Frazier, the true peoples champ **** rocky. We need a mike tyson flick but lets wait another decade.

Maybe when he's older, I wouldn't mind seeing a story on Yuriorkis Gamboa. He was another Cuban defector, had his first few pro fights in Germany before making his way to the US. I heard a story that he had to sell his 2004 Olympic gold medal just to give his young daughter a decent birthday party. I thought that was a good story.
I heard it was a pig.

Casting suggestion: John Leguizamo, Ice Cube, Larenz Tate and Taye Diggs, respectively (see text in red above).
I like it, but replace Ice Cube with Omar Epps or Ving Rhames and that would work better IMO.

Epps could pull it off too, but Rhames too old...

Too bad Luis Gossett Jnr from Midnight Sting (or Diggstown) is so old he looked a fair bit like Hagler!

Then he could play the old, retired Hagler at the end. Dule Hill from Psych might be able to pull it off too, as he's pretty athletic.

Harry Greb, Sugar Ray Robinson, Jack Johnson, John L Sullivan and Jack Dempsey.

I don't think there is much information to build a movie though about Sullivan.

Another great example for a movie is Benny Leonard, was one of the greatest lightweights ever, retired, came back because he lost his money in the stock market crash in 1929.

After his boxing career, he became a boxing referee and died in the ring at the age of 51.
