After getting KO'd by Mayorga, some clever boxing writer (I forgot who) said that Lewis had six heads, but no chin.

I remember that kid! He had a terrific body and I think he trained at Gleasons, can't remember who handled him. He was from Africa and did ok until he stepped up, not to good then. I think I handled one of the Reid brothers against him in New York! Maybe early or mid 80s? Ray

There was a precious moment there when there were a few guys in that division with Lewis that looked fantastic and...Mayorga was being touted as the next big puncher....I also distinctly remember a guy with the nickname "Little Truck" with a momma tougher than Don King's shoe sole... Anyhow, they all looked so promising but none of them ever did anything when they stepped up...Except Mayorga who has entertainment value if nothing else.

Boxing is not just a sport it's a business. For that the most notable that pop into my head are

                - Ray Leonard. I think he had a group of investors for promoters and made 50k his first fight, and paid them off & was his own boss early into his career. Don't quote me on that though.

                - Bernard Hopkins. The most ****/disciplined person when it comes to details from training, to food, to lifestyle, contracts, tactics, etc.

                - Floyd Mayweather Jr. Although I'm sure he will squander away his millions in due time.

Was Sweet Pea smarter than Joe Frazier? Not in my eyes, both guys were just smart enough to fight to their strengths. (pressure vs reflexes)

So i look to a guy without mad pressure, huge power or lightning reflexes and speed but a guy who is great regardless - Bernard Hopkins.

I heard Marciano also saved a lot of his money and made more with speaking engagements and invested a little. Larry Holmes started a few businesses even from when he was still active, so that was pretty smart as well.
