and equal ability to pick shots.

between the 2 id say Marciano was much better at putting together combos. very similar at throwing combos in a sense of they would punch then carefully pick their next shot. tyson was faster but marciano had much better timing distance and accuracy.

I never said he didn't have good skills.

But Tyson had better skills. Could've done with Marciano's intangibles though.

So Marciano had skills. But Tyson had better skills. However, Louis' skills are far superior to all. I just don't agree. As far as combo's he was awesome. He could move in any direction. The thing was, his footwork looked considerably slow. And, if Schmeling/Walcott could do things to out-wit him in the ring, I'm sure prime Tyson would at least have a shot. That's not to say the Mike was an all-around better fighter than Louis. Getting back to Marciano, people seem to underestimate him. I've heard Joe Louis once was rumored to say he may not have been able to beat Rocky even in his prime.

the truth hurts, tyson had no timing or sense of distance, he all did was pick the spot where the defense looked weakest and hoped if he put enough power into it that it would go through the defense.

marciano set up combos with fainting, timed them out to throw just as the opponet opens up, a master of throwing powerful punches from weird angles and quite impressive at throwing awkwardly combined combos.

tyson had speed, marciano had everything else.

i could go fruther into my point but really all you need to do is watch any combo trade that mike is involved in and count how many times he misses or is clearly blocked.

mike tyson skills were flashy speed and power, and if you have that speed and no defense then you just plain suck
