I'm cautiously optimistic for the state of the heavyweight division. Prospects like Jennings, Mitchell and Perez look to be decent action fighters; not terribly skilled but well conditioned hard punchers who let it all hand out. Wilder and Boytsov might even join them if they decide to step it up any time this century. David Price looks the goods, and might take over from the Klits if he's well managed and isn't found to have any glaring defects. Huck's "success" at heavyweight might inspire other CWs to try their hand in the division, and there are quite a few fun fighters there. More importantly than that, big fights are increasingly being made between well matched fighters at the higher levels of the sport. Hopefully we'll have a few more Huck Povetkins and fewer Wlad Hayes before the year is out, sloppy though that fight was.

I think the Eastern Euro dominance scthick is overstated. I don't really see any amazing prospects from that part of the world that are going to take over the way the Klits took over, or that display the type of athleticism and pedigree that was very evident with Wlad a long time ago. Boytsov's currently the most promising EE fighter, but aside from power, speed and aggression, he really doesn't stand out from the crowd.

For me the best prospect for the future is David Price, and I'm not saying that as a Brit. He genuinely looks the goods.

Well weren't the last Wlad and Vitali fights on HBO?

I don't disagree with that. But I wasn't implying that the next great Eastern Euro is on the scene right now.

Wladimir-Mormeck and Vitali-Chisora were not on HBO.

So only Wlad/David Haye was on HBO? Was the commentary at least in English?

I consider the Holmes era superior, it was only till the 90's that Tyson started to face better opponents.
