when will we have another Gatti?

does anyone miss the buzz around a Gatti fight as much as me?, i know others have tonnes of buzz now as well but he had such a different type of buzz to his fights, because we always knew win-lose-draw, thatr it would be a exciting or mostly exciting fight, nowadays theres alot of question marks about if it will be a good fight or not........we need another blood and guts warrior to step it up!!

Being honest, for some reason I don't miss him as much as everyone else seems to. Of course I'm saddened by his tragic demise, but I thought he was both somewhat overhyped and overrated. He was a very brave and exciting fighter, but I've seen many others in my life who didn't get nearly the acclaim or the HBO money. I will surely be shaking my head when he is inducted into the boxing HOF.

Agreed. Gatti was fun and he was a warrior, but there have been a ton of fighters who've supplied the same excitement. I'll miss him, but he wasn't the "be all, end all" of "rockyesque excitement."

he adjusts too well and his chin is too good.
and he doesnt look like a bleeder.

in terms of pure action gatti might be the most exciting fighter ever
and there might not be another one like him to come around.

he was the perfect storm of bloodbaths

he was also a huge local attraction in AC, which is another rarity

id say katsidis is the closest thing we've got today

                  he bleeds and puffs up

he can bomb with the left hand

but he's not the puncher gatti was and doesnt have the handspeed either.

if gatti werent so flawed he could have been a nice little boxer. he had some talent
at times he did box effectively

Gatti gave us some of the most ridiculous wars we've ever witnessed....as long as he wasn't matched up with a guy near the elite level.

As exciting as his fights were, I always thought guys like Diego Corrales or Julian Jackson were more exciting than he was....because they took on the best around them and still made for super thrills.
