Soto vs. Lorenzo. I major bollocks call by Joe Cortez. An example where they found the wrong winner.

Here Cortez explains his call ( ) and Steve Bunce tells it how it is:

I forgot the ref's name, but Augustus vs Courtney Burton I. That was some terrible reffing (not the worst but bad). Augustus knocked Burton down, the ref ruled it a low blow. He took a point away from Augustus when he spun out of a clinch. He kept breaking them up for no apparent reason and warning Augustus for who knows what.

        Go to :40 seconds:

Since this is the history section I'll go with Wyatt Earp, who had never reffed a fight before, took a bribe and disqualified Bob Fitzsimmons against Tom Sharkey from a blow that never landed, and promptly never reffed another fight again.

Bat Materson's hatchet job in calling draw in the Joe Gans-Elbows McFadden fight in 1899 also deserves mention.

thats the guy that blew the andrade knockout of bute

also honorable mention has to go to the ref of konstantin airich and danny williams. that guy was every bit of incompetent

That's top drawer stuff JAB, I should have thought of those two. They say that Fitz threatened to bash Wyatt's head in, Ruby Bob wasn't even afraid of gunfighters. -------------------- Bat Masterson the "Boxing Expert", once publicly said that George Chip was going to Knock Darcy's head off and it would be an easy victory for George......Yeah ! AS IF !!!!!!!!!............. LOL.... Bat was a hopeless fight predictor.........
