The HW division won't be that bad without them. If you look around a bit there's a fair few up and coming heavyweight prospects. Even if the division comes to be ruled by Boystov and Perez, they're in good enough shape to at least hold the facade that the K bros did. But that's not all there is to look out for, there are so many HW prospects on the up now it's sort of ridiculous how so many are coming along at the same time when we've all been waiting ages for just ONE to show up. To make a division exciting all you really need is at least 3 good boxers.

I think the idea for when the K bros retire is for the commisions and promoters to run some kind of tourney for the HW division, get everyone looking in the same spot

I've seen some of the "up and coming" Heavies that people seem to be high on.....like Robert Helenius. I recently watched his last three fights and what I saw was another slow, mechanical, clumsy, low-skilled fraud fighting in that inferior straight up and down Eurofraud amateur style. That's hardly something to get excited over.

lets keep the only two bundles of talent and skill we have.
Some new talent will evolve. It has throughout the history of the sport.

^ not guys like Fury and Helenius,
I was thinking more along the lines of Perez, Boystov, Seth Mitchell, Wilder, Flo Simba, Tor Hamer, Erkan Teper, Edmund Gerber, Garreth Simon, Richard Towers

There's also numerous touted prospects in the amateur ranks who will likely be crossing over after the K bros leave; on top of that with the news Roach is going to train the US boxing team the chance of creating another HW prospect increases

You'll tag me for mentioning Simba and Wilder but you have to remember Simba has under ten fights and went from nobodies to a former world champ in one bound, Wilder looks green but remember he had little amateur experience and is still learning the trade in his pro fights; I saw plenty of improvement in his last fight and he has always been powerful and fast

The problem is that outside of fighting themselves, there is no worthy challengers. 3 of the Rings top 10 heavyweight have a combined 28 fights in the division (Haye, Adamek and Helenius) and two of them came up from lower divisions. Povetkin is a mandatory but is afraid. Wlad is so hard up for comp he was almost going to fight Chisora who only had 14 fights with only one being against anyone with world class experience. To his credit Chisora looked pretty good against Fury until he ran out of gas in the middle rounds. And that leads us to another problem with the division...stamina. Im sorry but the heavyweight division is awful at the moment. That said, and as boring as I find Wlad, the heavyweight scene benefits from the brothers at the moment. Without them the division is void of talent until some of the younger prospects (including Hehenius) get some needed experience under their belts.

In fact, usually when they fight I'm rooting for the underdog most of the time! What I'm wondering is, should they be dethroned or retire would it actually be better for boxing? I'd like to take a poll...

Not until somebody better comes along. They are so much better than the remaining heavyweight contenders that it would make no sense to want to see them go. If they go it would have to be by losing. Not just going away.

Two brothers dominating is also something unprecedented in the heavyweight division or any other to my knowledge.

                I agree with this.

Just can't figure out what exactly it is that so many "boxing fans" have against 2 dominant fighters who seem a notch above EVERYBODY else in the heavyweight division?

Lots of fighters are not fully appreciated until after they're gone & their career is looked at in retrospect.
I think after they're retired a few years, there'll be a clamoring for the "good old days" when the division was dominated by the K's.

Personally, I want to see them each retire without losing any more fights. I've become a fan of the K's the last few years.

***As for this poll, there are 3 possible "negative" answers & 1 positive possibility. That is, if you're a Klitschko fan. Kinda slanted???

***Edited to add this....According to the poll voting, there's some pretty sharp voters here!

It's not against them, at least for me, it's against how bad the division is at the moment. They're both very good fighters, but their dominance has been magnified by the weakness of the division.

I understand that JAB, & I agree with you. In fact, your post #25 was very well said. I was talking about how many guys on here actually seem to hate the Klitschkos. They're not my all-time favorites, but it's also not their fault they're in a real weak division. We know that. But there's some on here that are just haters. Give the K's credit for being professional, coming in in-shape & respecting their sport.
