  • Given the history of the Klitschkos.. Do boxing fans want to see them GO?!

The Klitschkos are dominant heavyweight champions. They have made history. They are two russian brothers who hold the heavyweight championship at the same time. However, because they are not very exciting fighters many have lost interest in the division. I'd say I don't dislike them but I'm not fans of theirs, either. In fact, usually when they fight I'm rooting for the underdog most of the time! What I'm wondering is, should they be dethroned or retire would it actually be better for boxing? I'd like to take a poll...

What people need to realise is that once they're gone, the HW division will be in a shocking state. At least now we can say that the division is ruled by 2 fighters who probably will go down in the HOF. What happens after they've gone? The belts will become worthless, utterly worthless. We'll have champions like Povetkin and Haye. What makes that a more exciting scenario?

People will truly appreciate them when they're gone.

I don't want them to retire.

I think it might be better for the division if there was just one of them, as then there would be one dominant champion, less title shots to go around which would mean more fights between top contenders instead of guys just waiting for a chance rather than trying to earn it (there are some exceptions to this, of course).

Really though, the problem with the heavyweights isn't the K brothers, it's everyone else in the division.

It's not the Klitschkos people want to see go. It's the Klitschko FANS that everybody would like to see die in a Jim Jones style mass suicide. The Klitschkos are professional and show up for fights in shape, something nobody else in the division does. It's already the worst Heavyweight division in the history of the sport, take the Klitschkos out and you might as well ban the division as an obscenity unfit for public consumption.

I agree...... what we really want to see is some real exciting, Big, tough, hungry fire eaters who eat nails and have chins capable of years and years of standing up to heavy blows. We need less organisations too and much less champions,.... there is room for one champion per division................................ and when there's nobody capable enough to rule the roost...... well in that case, there is no champion.... sometimes it takes time for a champion to emerge............ we need more depth in there too, problem is, with the amount of six feet six plus guys around, it's killing off the smaller guys...... I think any HW under 6 foot 2..... is no hope in the future........ they are the new cruiserweights.

Why do you let the fans bother you so much? And it's not ALL the Klitschko fans, it's a portion of the fans on a message board (unless you know of Wlad Owns/Domination type nutjobs in real life too) that aggravate you.

Sure, I've hated Calzaghe groupies, *****s, ******* and Klit-lickers at various points. But there comes a point where you just get over it, and not let it bother you - which you seem personally incapable of doing.

Dude, I've got no quarrel with you (in fact, I appreciate all the vids you've put up for downoad in the VTB) but it's apparent that many others have. And I can see why, cos you seem to hold so much bitterness and anger, and spend as much time counter-trolling all those you hate.

Just let it go, and enjoy the sport.

That is so true. I've seen it happen so many times before.

The heavy weight division is boring. When there is a title fight the local newspapers put a small paragraph in the back of the sports page. Nobody outside of boxing even knows who the klitchkos are. Its a shame really. Maybe they do need to retire. They are boring to watch. Both of them.

So even thought they make millions of dollars everytime they fight, taking very little punishment doing it, they should retire because they are boring you? Really?

Now if they can convince ALL the Heavyweights to retire on account of being boring no-talents then he might have something :chuckle9:
