    Could Hearns ever beat Hagler?

That night,April 15, 1985 (wow so long ago). Hearns just was'nt himself. The hand breaking, the being chased by Hagler all over the ring, the rumer of the legs being spent. REGARDLESS though Hagler was a monster that night, and fought the perfect fight with the hitman. I often wonder how the fight or any other fight would have gone, had Hagler come out cautiosly,or if he faced Hearns the night He blew out Shuler with the hit man looking very strong..Or had they fought at Light Heavy. Still though an amazing fight that in many ways has never been equalled.

He had the ability and could, but I wouldn't bet on it. I think both Hagler and Leonard showed that another great fighter could force Tommy to fight their fight. Even if Hearns hadn't broke his hand I think Marvin turns it into a brawl and Tommy is all to willing to go along. Jmo.

Sometimes think that Hearns bought into his hitman persona too much, he had so much boxing ability I think at times he fought the wrong fight. With Hagler breaking his hand screwed him but I always think Hagler would have caught up with him. But he cut Hagler so maybe in different circumstances fighting long range he could get a TKO

Only if they let him use a gun.

Never in my opinion. Hearns couldn't hurt Hagler enough to get his respect. And it would be his downfall in every fight. The bottom line is that Hagler was too much for the middleweight Hearns.

Hearns could have outboxed Hagler, if Hagler wasn't fully aware the most certain path to victory was to draw him into a slugging match (which Hearns was never going to win. It took Hagler all of a second to shrug off being stunned by a massive punch from Hearns. He was no ordinary human being)

I wouldn't put money on it though. Hagler has a very, very good arsenal on top of that chin of his.

Hearns is made to order for Hagler(or anybody else with a good punch and iron chin). Hearns has no inside fighting skills, a glass jaw and loves to get in a slugfest

Oh please with the glass jaw bull****. He got stopped by Leonard, Hagler, and Barkley: Two of them are ATGs and all three could punch your lights out. If you want to see a glass jaw take a look at this picture:

The post heavyweight Roy Jones had a paper jaw thanks for stating the obvious. Doesn't change the fact that Hearns has a glass jaw everybody knows this.
