If the Barrera from the third Morales fight was pitted against Marquez that night, I have no doubt whatsoever that Marquez would have clearly been beaten. That Barrera had the speed and skill of the Barrera from MAB-Maquez, but also had real weight and snap to his punches. As it is you could have had Barrera winning with his robbed knockdown, he beat the hell out of Marquez's face(although he definitely did give up a number of late rounds).Comment

I disagree. Barrera had much more wear and tear at that point than Marquez. Doesnt anyone remember his close outing against Juarez? Barrera still had plenty of skill and a decent amount of speed against Marquez, but his power had definitely fallen, his punches didnt have as much weight. Not to mention that his stamina failed him late too, and at his best Barrera was an excellent late round fighter.

As for the score i gave it to Juan Manuel by a point, 114-113 but almost every round was fiercely contested and Barrera fought brilliantly. I scored round seven 9-8 in favour of JMM, he dominated the round bigtime but then he got dropped so in my eyes that makes it 9-9. Unfortunately Barrera then Blatantly hits JMM when he is down and is rightly docked a point making it 9-8 in Marquez's favour as i gave credit to Barrera for the KD as it was clearly legit - Nady dropped the ball thereLast edited by The Surgeon; 07-14-2011, 05:20 AM.Comment

JMM wasn't in his prime either and it can't be an age debate , not when JMM is older
in that case put the JMM that fought Pacquiao the first time around... of course Barrera would be one weightclass above. I mean in regards to prime
and I'm certain the result would be the same a long hard fought technical match that JMM would winComment

Historically, it's hard for me to rate one above the other when it comes to MAB, Morales, and JMM.
But, take them all in their primes and match 'em up head-to-head.....and I have Barrera beating both of them.Comment
