    Duran vs Hagler scorecards?

Seriously had Hagler winning 147-140. No idea how anybody can score this close.

Fight wasn't close but Duran gave a great account for himself considering he wasn't expected to make it out of there alive.

      and he shook hagler badly
      nobody saw that coming

it's certainly a fight that's up there with the greater reputation enhancers for the losing fighter (especially considering he lost decisively)

I've never thought that fight was nearly as close as legend has made it.

It was like 9-5-1 I think but I'll have to rewatvh it. Duran made some of the rounds close. Especially early ones.

I think the fact that Hagler didn't blow out Duran gives the impression that it was close. I remember seeing the fight at the time, and being a huge Hagler fan,but was impressed by the performance of Duran in it. He definitely held his own against Hagler, but Hagler still was the more effective on in that fight.

Alot of boxing people over the years, actually said if the fight was 12 rounds, Duran deserved to win.

You have to think Marvin would have adjusted his game plan for a 12 round fight though, so you really can't go on that.

Hagler pretty thoroughly controlled the action, I thought. Duran was representative but he was just overmatched by a bigger and (at that point) better guy.
