Tried to watch that fight but I found it tedious. He was still a damn good fighter after Harding, as he showed against Woods and Ruiz

He wasn't the better fighter, he just had the style to give Jones fits.
I don't believe this was a style deterministic match up anyway. More important factor was closeness to their respective primes.

Tarvers style was giving him fits. All fighters have styles which they struggle against.

Tarver was basically using a similar strategy to the one Harding used.
          dude?

The fact that Roy pulled out the fight supports my argument.

Roy wasn't at his best. I mentioned this before.

What arguement is that, that Jones was a better fighter than Tarver? I said he was, but Jones would always struggle against Tarver because of the style match up.

He struggled against Tarver in all three of their fights and even if you go back to his prime he clearly struggled against Harding. Who like Tarver was a tall rangy southpaw with an awkward style

Where did that? My argument is that Tarver was a better fighter 2004. We can't say if he was a better, period. I don't think this was a style deterministic match up. Roy Jones struggled a lot with Tarver because he wasn't at his best.

I believe you said Tarver the better fighter:

Koed him in two rounds in the second fight

Beat him by wide ud and had him hurt badly during the 10 round (not sure which round exactly)

                  Tarver was the better fighter

I never said Tarver was better period. If they met prime 4 prime I would favour Jones

Jones is a very left hand dominant fighter, like Toney is a very right hand dominant fighter. Both of those guys will struggle against opponents who neutralise their favoured punches.

If you go back to the Harding fight you see that Harding leans back and goes into his defensive shell, which effectively neutrailses Jones array of left hooks. He was also quite adept at slipping Jones straight rights.

                    Hence Jones struggled with him.

If you look at the Jones-Tarver fights you see the same thing happening. Jones rarely connects with left hooks. He tries to throw the counter left hook over Tarvers right jab, but he never has much success with it.
Everytime he got ready to throw the straight right, Tarver would take a step back and go into his shell, which kept throwing off Jones timing.

                    Hence Jones struggled with him
