It is impossible to predict what would happen in regards to Ali fighting anyone, because he was so unorthodox and difficult for fighters to figure out.

He fought moving backwards better than anyone in history. His jab was one of the best ever, his chin was good, and his endurance top-notch. He was a royal pain-in-the-ass to fight, because you would be behind in points literally from the get-go, and forced to get overly aggressive.

Aside from Pep, Floyd, or Locce, there is no one more frustrating to deal with than Ali.

I've always said Tyson in his prime was the best ever at heavyweight, but him against Ali, when Ali was in his prime? Who knows how that would have turned out?

      - -Mike by emasculation.

And Ali running style could never go the distance. He'd have to stand down after logging 5x the distance traveled as a prime Tyson and Louis would.

        1966 Ali > Prime Tyson

Watch Ali vs Liston 1... that's the closest thing we'll get to see Ali vs Mike in their prime.

          - -So Ali gonna quit on his stool like he tried to do vs Liston.

And U gonna make Tyson 40 yr old with a foot longer reach while plodding in cement shoes?

          BRILLIANT!!!!!!!

Hard to predict. Ali moved straight back and could be caught by a puncher. That is what happened against Frazier. Louis never really had to worry about reach and with Ali's jab he most certainly would have that problem.

Louis either finds him, or he doesn't. And if he does, what of Ali's great chin?

Hard fight to figure... Ill let QueenB figure it out for me.

So Ali used rope a dope vs Foreman but cant do it vs smaller Louis? Fighters abilltys in 60s and 70s were much better then in 30s,pluse Ali style is all wrong for Joe , Ali by UD or TKO .

                - -Ali used ropadope against little popcorn Jimmy Young!

Joe never stunk out the ring like Ali could on to many occasions, and better, took most of his fights out of the judges grubbies, especially controversies.

Fact that he finished more fights with KO ,doesnt mean his better fighter , like i said compering HWs from 30s to HWs of 60s and 70s make no sense ,its just no contest.

Ali: All you ever fought was Bum of the Month.

Joe Louis: I'd make you one of my Bums of the Month too.

Not really tbh, Ali simply didn't have the gas and kept taking breaks on the ropes. Frazier threw a left hook that tricked Ali into rolling the shot too soon, and it caught him flush on the chin. It didn't help that he also ate a vicious body shot that he wasn't expecting, a round earlier. Ali simply didn't have the same gas tank to move around for 15 rounds.
