Can someone explain to me how boxing has "evolved" since the middle the last century

But the fights themselves are called "bouts" not "matches." Wrestling and tennis have matches, boxing has bouts.

Dude, if boxing "evolved" so quickly, how come a 45 year old George Foreman was able to come out of retirement & beat 90% of the prime fighters he fought?

If people evolve so quickly, somebody from the '70s should've never been able to compete in the '90s.

Human evolution is not like technological evolution.

It's literally taken us about 300,000 years to evolve into what we are today and guess what?

Me & you probably aren't that different than our fathers or grandfathers.

I'm ready to come out & say my father born in the 1950s was a wayyyyy better athlete than me.

He was only 5'7" & could still dunk a basketball at almost 40 years old

If humans evolved as quickly as all these "geniuses" say we do, then we should have sprouted wings or something by now. It's ridiculous

Fact is in every sport, there's a period of rapid development when the rules and quirks are figured out, but after that, the only real differences are in rules changes that affect the way the sport is played & obviously things like better steroids & surgeries that allow guys to perform at peak performances for longer.

Sugar Ray Robinson could step out of a time machine from 1947 & knock Errol Spence or Yeordenis Ugas out in 4 or 5 rounds.

Muhammad Ali from 1967 would run circles around Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk

Humans don't evolve that quickly, sorry.

Once boxing hit it's plateau in the mid 20th century, it's been stagnant ever since with only a few exceptions coming around each generation to add their name in the pantheon of all-time great.

Fighters in the "old days":
-Sparred
-Did roadwork
-Hit the heavy bag, speed bag, and double-end bag
-Eat right

Modern fighters:
-Spar
-Do roadwork
-Hit the heavy bag, speed bag, and double-end bag
-Eat right, as much as is possible given that most foods are processed or covered with chemicals
-Some weight training

Boxing has not improved since the1950's,imo

watch any average 70s-80s fighter in full matches,and see if you guys can see advances in tech/timing/fluidity/angles,probably not since a lot here aren't sane and are scared to, we can easily see the 30s-40s looks like novices compared to a average 70s

for ones ascended like me we can see mutiple changes from 70s to 80s,and 80s-90s,and early 00 compared to 70s-80s looks very basic and flawed,we also can see 10 years after the early 00s it became way more advanced in those areas,I feel no need to explain the obvious to people who I cannot change how they see or to make them see,my eyes and others as I said like me who can see and who are sane as I am are the only words I care about
