But the fights themselves are called "bouts" not "matches." Wrestling and tennis have matches, boxing has bouts.

It's like calling a first basman's glove a "mitt" or saying a soccer match ended three to zero, instead of three-nil. You can do it, but to a real fan you are going to expose your ignorance.
