As far as it being an "absurd" claim, it may be. But not nearly as absurd as your claim that Lewis would have never fought Vitali Klitschko had Kirk Johnson not pulled out. In fact it's pretty ****** considering Lewis had a PPV date with Klitschko in December. You love the Klitschko's, Marciano, hate Jack johnson. Lets start there.

I pretty much expect this from a man who calls himself "Jim Jeffries" when everybody knows what Jim Jeffries represented during those times.. Tie that in with your sick obsessive hate for Barack *****.The fact that you send me red k(the usual childish "FU") and messages on my profile for putting Steehammer in his place. And most here know what he represents as well. Put that all together and it all makes sense and explains everything about you.
A simple "I made it up" would've sufficed. Save the rest of that grade school ad hominem for someone else, in the Thunderdome. After the comment you made yesterday hoping I would commit suicide, might I suggest counseling, maybe medication?

I wouldn't give Rocky much more than a puncher's chance in this one, with the more likely outcome being Louis by TKO on cuts. Joe was just the more complete fighter and if Rocky had the edge in power (debatable,) Louis was the better puncher.

In terms of raw impact, I would pick the Rock over most, including Lewis. But Lewis had such an edge in technique, speed, accuracy, snap, combinations, finishing instinct...clearly the better puncher. But I think Rocky was more "powerful." There's one exchange in their fight (I know it's past Louis' prime, but an old fighter keeps his power, especially one with the technique that Louis had) where Joe smacks him with a good sharp left hook, follows up a right overhand then an uppercut. Rock doesn't blink and fires back a right hand that lifts Joe about six inches off the ground. It was really remarkable how hard Rocky could hit.

I would bet big on Louis here, & I don't think it would've been terribly competitive. I give Marciano's face about eight rounds before it's shredded beyond recovery. Marciano made a great career out of destroying significant advantages his opponents enjoyed, but never has he given up so much to someone so grand.

        Louis with surprising ease.

I'd pick Louis every time, prime for prime.

I'd go with Louis, just because the way to beat Louis was to box him. Like Arguello he would turn aggression against opponents. Marciano's awkwardness would make it interesting though.

Marciano doesn't make it past the 7th. While Rocky's chin is too damn good for anyone to count 10 over I see him shipping way too much punishment and the ref pulling his plug. Battered but unbowed, game but overmatched, too brave for his own good, Marciano gets his licks in but takes a huge beating in return and gets TKOed.

One thing's for sure, there would have been some vicious infighting going on. If it happened nowadays, both guys would probably end up in the hospital for at least a couple of days, just based on the amount of bonecrushing shots both land in their fights.
It's a close fight. Louis was never unbeatable, but I see him probably beating rocky because he's got sharper punches. rocky really doesn't know how to snap his punches (nobody taught him?) hence why he would have to wear his opponents down.

This will always be a close fight, lots of people talking Louis up like in his prime he would kill Rocky, is unlikely. Let's not forget the trouble he had with a guy like Tony Galento.

I totally agree with this and can't see it going any other way.

Joe's chin does get under-rated most of his knockdowns were just flash and he was never that hurt barring the Schmeling fight which is arguably fatigue when you see the way he falls.
