I actually think Mayweather would embarrass Pryor at 140,i think the hawk gets incredibly overrated and wouldnt land much of note on floyd, although im aware i might not be too popular saying so

Maybe theres a hint of him being underrated too,its often hard too find a balance

Hes certainly not a poor mans ricky hatton, and i see your point with pryor as i think hatton would be a handful for pbf at 140,so maybe too say floyd embarrases him was a little strong, although i still think he wins a fairly comfortable decision

To tell u the truth id actually forgotten the fact that Hatton fought Floyd at 147 for a minute there. Hatton was very much a 140lb fighter and yet he was effective to a point against the far more skilled and bigger man (despite having started smaller)

Just makes me think Pryor was in with a very good chance. He is like Hatton on ******* hell he probably was on ******* half the damn time!

In fairness Mayweather did carry Hatton for a while. Even after the monstorous 8th round he clearly carried him throughout the 9th. The left hook was gettign consistent it was only so long till he badly hurt him.

You have a good point and I dont see Pryor by any means being an easy fight for Mayweather but Ricky is such a mauler man I don't think using that comparison really shows us much.

I would favour Mayweather to UD Pryor but by absolutely no means would it be easy I actually think he would undoubtedly cause Mayweather some trouble.

Exactly. At 135, Floyd wasn't the infighting virtuoso he is now. He was still effective at mid to long range, but inside, he didn't know what to do. After the Castillo fight, he picked up some good tricks that served him later on, especially against Hatton. But I think that pre-Castillo Mayweather gets run out of the ring. At 140...not sure. That fight is too close to call.
I disagree. Mayweather showed his infighting ability already against Jesus Chavez, where he would continually land short right uppercuts. I dont think hes improved too much on the inside since then.
The only reason that he wasnt as effective against Castillo was because Castillo was simply much better than him at close range, and had the right style to give him trouble.

I also do not think Argullo would have had that much of a chance to beat Floyd. I loved Argeullo and his style, but Mayweather was just a bad matchup for him. movers like Marcel and Fernandez were able to frustrate Arguello by potshotting him, and I think Floyd could do similiar, even though hed have to run almost the entire time.

                      I agree with this entirely.

As many people know Arguello is one of my favourite fighters of all time. But Floyd is just a bad style match for him.
