Jones was the quickest HW then, i forgot about him, but bar non he was. Quicker than ali at HW no doubt. He might not have seemed as untouchable because his reach wasn't nearly as long and he was just barely 5'11, but his speed was lightening for a guy that yoked up to damn near 200.

Glad to see some Tua support. That guy had some seriously fast hands in his prime, but tends to get overlooked due to his squat frame and general flat-footedness, as well as the fact the he was a brawler whose short reach meant he often fell short of the target against taller boxers who knew how to handle him. But his leaping left hook was lightning, and he could string some phenomenally fast and thunderous combos together when he had fighters hurt.

Just from the top of my head. Top 10 is too hard to get a list.
You may be judging patterson by the wrong fights,he had a bad back for a long part of his career.I have a montage of heavies hitting the speed bag and he was the fastest by far.Dokes was faster than all on your list except the top two at thier best.Walcott didnt have fast hands but was a good mover boxer.Jeremy williams was a fast heavy as was (seeing is believing) Tony Tubbs

Cleveland "Big Cat" Williams deserves a mention. Going by the Ali fight, you'd think he was the slowest, but that's what a bullet in the gut (along with facing Ali) can do to you. In his prime his handspeed and power were terrific.

i would say Tua was one of the slowest not fastest, he was like an egg on legs

Yes, I remember you posted some footage a while back. Do you have a link to that thread?

Ali was definitely slower for the FOTC than he was in his prime.
