Jack had 3 or 4 ATGs floating around in his era and didnt beat a single one. He is the most over-rated joke since Mike Tyson.
The P4P King? ... who was this
the No1 contender who won 40 straight?.. who is this
3 or 4 ATGs... name them and their legit prominence to Dempsey?

And very convincingly, even a past prime out of shape fat Bowe later on.

It's funny that people will talk about how Tyson is just an over rated hype job and not very good, then will glorify Holyfield but at the same time Holyfields best win and what made him a superstar was his victory over Mike Tyson, then of course getting his ear bitten by Tyson.

To the public, that win (Tyson) is definately overrated but then again his victory over Qawi is underrated, at the end of the day hes a one of the best to lace 'em up.

Did his ducking of Greb also have to do with racism in America? I guess Dempsey's vision got so fckd up in those sparring sessions that he thought Greb was black.

So if Dempsey came back in 1926 and fought Harry Greb who was beat twice by Gene Tunney you would be ok with that? And when Dempsey decapitated him would you say that Dempsey ducked Gene Tunney and fought the loser?

Jack Dempsey weighed 185-190 and Greb was barely over 165. How do you figure that Greb would beat him? Sparring means nothing. As Sonny pointed out in a thread before, sparring talk is meaningless as we have read reports that Edwin Valero whipped Oscar DLH in sparring, yet we know he would be destroyed by him, and Amir Khan is said to have whipped Manny Pacquiao in sparring, do you believe that in a fight he would beat Manny?

Stories of sparring are really quite meaningless but based on what we know Dempsey had no reason to duck Greb and there is a great chance that Greb would not be able to beat Jack Dempsey.

John Ruiz & Lamon Brewster both hammered Lennox Lewis in sparring sessions.... does that mean they both beat Lewis in a pro fight?

Jack shouldve fought Greb to prove he could beat someone who is faster and more skilled, like Joe Louis did with Conn. I think Grebs chances of pulling the upset over Jack are a lot higher though.
