Opinions about new thread for boxing today

Im thinking about stickying a thread for discussion about boxing current events. It would be one thread only where those who don't want to deal with the trolling and BS in NSB could come and discuss boxing. It will be moderated the same way as every other thread in the history section and I will let it run as long as I can keep it under control. Good idea? Bad idea? Will this invite more trolls? I'd like your opinions before making any decision.

I was going to ask about this actually. I mean, whether we're talking about boxing matches that happened years ago or last night, it's still history right? It's still in the past even though it just happened, therefore already making it a part of boxing history. So I'm all for it and I guess if I see a more recent fight, now I'll post something about it.

I kind of lean this way myself. But if the majority wants it and can give me decent reasons as to why than I will take it into consideration. Nothing is set. And even if it does come about I reserve the right to delete it at any given moment. Appreciate your input Joey.

I don't see the purpose there is a section to post in for current boxing already. Sometimes there are threads started about current boxing in the history section. There have been some on Manny Pacquiao and Glen Johnston recently. Are you saying you want to section those off?

The trolls target good posters the good posters are in this section. The trolls who think they know everything will come here instead they will annoy more people.
Not a great idea in my opinion.
You should seriously get a 2 week trial in here, then JAB decides whether you should stay or not, to keep trolling down.

I think a thread about classic fighters vs modern fighters is not a bad idea. I think alot of the fantasy fights tend to clog too many of the threads on the main section. For example, if someone wants to start threads like Pac or May vs Armstrong, Duran, Ross, Canzoneri etc., it should be just one thread for fantasy fights Old Vs. New. We know many posters just put one sentence ______ vs _____ who wins and why? Than you get many of these old vs new fighter threads, why not have just a sticky about these fantasy fights? Just an idea and i am not sure how others feel about it?

I think you should try it out and if it isn't successful, scrap it. Since I've been in the history section more(learning not so much posting) I've realised how pathetic the majority of posters in NSB are, even some of the ones I considered good posters are actually quite nasty in discussions where you disagree.
