SR Leonard at 147 was more fleet of foot than Mayweather... at any weight. And I'm a fan of Mayweather, and not a real big fan of Leonard.

Floyd is just Arguello's style nightmare. Vilomar Fernandez was able to use his skill, footwork, and boxing skills to outpoint a PRIME Arguello.

Fernandez is no were near as skilled, fast, or as good a boxer as Floyd. Arguello was extremly flat footed, and liked to load up.

Floyd just picks him apart with speed & movement. Arguello may be the greater fighter, but Floyd beats him in a fantasy fight.

Mayweather is not a mobile fighter in the style that Leonard used to give Duran trouble.

Mayweather stands in the pocket, fights inside, rests against the ropes and waits for the other fighters to get close to punch so he can counter.

To me, that's inviting to get beaten much like he did against Castillo. Unlike most other opponents, Castillo was able to counter and waited on Floyd to lead more. It's quite similar to how Duran fights, but at half the skill level, speed etc.

I love Mayweather fans that don't even know or understand how the guy fights.

Yeah, he fought like Mayweather does every single fight. Not only that, but up to that point he also fought like Ray Leonard did every single fight. Do people here even watch fights?

did you miss mayweather/castillo 2 were floyd pretty much just moved and potshotted?the same thing you said he doesnt do.floyd is the best at making adjustments.duran couldnt deal with leonards speed in the rematch and was thouroughly embarrased.if floyd decided to move, the outcome would be the same

The fight Ray Leonard fought in Montreal was the way he normally fought.

Leonard's tactics in New Orleans weren't exactly delivering a whitewash: Duran was only down a point or two on the cards at the time of "No Mas". Pot-shotting and running like a b1tch (plus mugging and clowning) was not a game plan that would find favor with judges in 1980.

                      Which wasn't smart against Duran.
