Actually I think this is the worst possible historical match-up for Arguello at 130, and I'm a huge Arguello fan.

I agree. Floyd is Arguello's stylistic nightmare.

While no doubt Mayweather would wait until Arguello was old and washed up before making this fight, a fantasy fight actually presupposes Floyd actually grows a set and makes this a prime matchup: In which case Arguello by decapitation.

Arguello was beat by far inferior boxing technicians at and around this weight. The things that made him lose those fights are things Floyd does better than the opponents did. So I'll take Floyd by comfortable UD.

I think they had Duran beating Mayweather.

And? Of course Duran beats Mayweather. The phrase "beating of his life" comes to mind. Duran is the consensus GOAT at Lightweight.....Mayweather is the consensus GOAT at nothing.

Mayweather's claim to best SFW of all time is just as strong as Duran's at LW. That said, Duran is competing against far better competition (B. Leonard and J. Gans).

Except I don't regard SFW as a real weight class: Old-School 8 or it don't rate
