    Your a joke

What fighter under 35 that was over 200 lbs that was any bit good did Shavers brutally KO. In the middle of his career he fought a guy who was 1-29......

What? I am still waiting for someone under 35 and over 200 lbs who wasnt a total bum who Shavers brutally KO'ed. Shavers makes David Tua look accomplished...

well i think one could say that maybe Briggs has a harder one punch......maybe. Hes a massive man but shavers would always come out swinging and try and destroy you with every punch. A much more exciting fighter.

When does Briggs not come out swinging? Did you see him against Lewis? The dude has one problem, stamina...well boxing ability too, but stamina is the big thing.

Briggs has 31 first round knock outs. 31.

Shavers 23 in 89 fights. (24 if you count being destroyed by Quarry in 1)

I mean and before you go into the level of competition, 13 of Shavers 23 first round KO's came against guys with either 1. losing records or 2. were in their first pro fight of their career. I mean you can argue that the 70's were better etc...but beating a 1-29 fighter is still beating a bum, I dont care what generation youre in. Beating 1-10 Ron asher is still beating a bum. even in the early 80's shavers fought guys like Phil Clinard who were 0-3-0.

The funniest thing is that Ted Hamilton who finished his career with a 1-33 record, Shavers couldnt KO in 1 although Hamilton had be KO'd 1 by 10 different fighters.

People on here act like Shavers was some great. Did he hit hard? Sure. Was he the greatest puncher ever? definitely not. He beat an over-the-hill Norton who went on to draw Scott Ledoux, get stopped in the first round by Cooney and steal an SD from Randall Cobb....Norton was shot. That is Shavers career definining win. Cooney has the same credit to his name.

Muhammad Ali said that Shavers was the hardest puncher that he ever fought.

That is saing something since he fought Foreman,Frazier,Liston, and Cleveland Williams.Ron Lyle wasn't to bad of a puncher either.

Did Ali fight Briggs? No? Ok then its not saying anything. Was Briggs even around when he said that? No? 1. Ali wasnt smart. He said tons of dumb things, he also said he was the greatest etc... 2. Fighters often compliment other fighters they fought especially if it meant disparaging rivals. You think ali would have complimented Frazier or Foreman? Or Liston for that matter? Cleve Williams was shot in the gut prior to the Ali fight and was borderline cripple.

What non-bum fighters has Briggs knocked out, other than an ancient Ray Mercer?

Tell me something i don't know. But Muhammad Ali was sincere when he said Shavers was the hardest puncher he ever fought. It's pure speculation to say who punched harder between Briggs and Shavers, but why get so defensive when i simply mention who Muhammad Ali said was the hardest puncher that he ever fought?
