In the end, we kick the bucket and will be quickly forgotten. So, philosophically, does it matter if we die at 5 years of age, or 35, or 95? 35 good years being Ali isn’t a bad pick.

A survey in the mid-70s showed that Muhammad Ali was the most famous person on this planet. Even small villages on the outskirts of the world knew his name. I doubt there is any living person today coming close to that, even with internet.

Don't they say Rios has a monster tool?

If I had to pick a real life guy, maybe Marciano, but don't take that last flight that caused his crash or Holyfield, but get a vasectomy at some point, so I don't have to fight until I'm damn near 50 to support so many kids. Or maybe Calzaghe, but fight all the best opponents, so nobody could complain about me ducking anyone or having a weak resume.
I hear you. I might go for marciano as well. He led a charmed life if you think about it... I know the way he died ****** but then again, if I had to go why not go quickly?

Marciano lived during a time when the cities were blooming, the economy was firing on all cylinders, you could essentially be wealthy and not have to consider poverty at the level we see in many other periods of history. I like the way marciano travelled around, even if it was a bit sketchy to his family... I wouldn't do that to my family but I can certainly fantasize about being the champ and having a bevy of cuties waiting for me ready to knock boots! or are you going to take that away....oh err its ok its ok.

Marciano had the ultimate respect of all, the gangsters, the politicians, the common man... I mean compared to floyd who has to buy things that will bankrupt him to get attention. marciano held on to his money.

Honerable mention Larry Holmes...the man who vanquished Don King and held on to his money and his marbles.

I would want the combination of legacy, lifestyle, personality, quality of life, health and longevity. With that, I wouldn't mind having the lives of Dempsey, Tunney, Lennox Lewis, Ray Leonard, Hagler, Pacquiao, probably a few others.

I'd like to be a fighter able to knock Oscar De La Hoya out cold.

If De La Hoya is not available, Billy Joe Saunders would do.

Speaking of Floyd, to quote Fox in the video game version of the movie The Warriors "I've been hearing some rumblings, war chief" about Floyd wanting to come back to rematch Pacquiao.

You know, even Floyd's punch drunk drug addled dad Floyd Sr. has said that if you stick around long enough, someone will get you. I guess Floyd Jr. figures Manny is old too and he can beat him even more easily again, making another boatload of money in the process. An article I saw today on Boxing News 24 also says that he wants some kind of tune up fight before fighting Manny again, so I guess he's going for 52-0. Maybe he wants to surpass the 51-0 record of that Wanheng Menayothin guy.

I don't want to get people in an uproar. I think Floyd and possibly Manny also, need money. The problem with making money is the lifestyle that ensues.
