1-Ali/Joe 1 a genuine grudge fight of the century prefight, and they both delivered the best of their clashing styles in the fight won concussively by Joe, and certainly the post fight fireworks that bled over into the main****** culture-A+++
2- Field/Bowe 1 was after Big George had Field hanging on for dear life to survive to the finish that took a lot of confidence out of him both mentally and physically, and still he manned up fully to Bowe that he couldn't do against George. Big Dummy was just too strong and lucky to get Field when he did. Solid Gatti/Ward rockem-sockem fight-A
3- Lar/Norton sees Lar going life and death against a fading Norton soon to follow Frazier, George, and Ali in retirement. The sparest Split Decision win that a fighter can have, 0.0012% of points cast. That there was no immediate lucrative rematch tells me who won the War, Norton, who perhaps had he been awarded his rightful 3 wins instead of just 1 win over Ali, Kenny would've commanded greater respect from the judges-A+
4.Jerry/Joe toe to toe, pillar to post action with little ebb and flow with Joe slowly edging ever more to the epic stoppage-A+++
5- Ali/Joe 3 had lots of ebb and flow where they traded on who was getting the best with both being well beyond their best save their hearts that just couldn't stop. Marred by Ali screaming to Angie(cut the gloves off first seen in Liston 1) before the 15th round with Futch stopping Frazier bouncing in his corner ready to tear out at the bell. Frazier's observer of Ali's corner a former fighter couldn't make to Frazier's corner to tell them Ali was quitting before Futch stopped the fight. The skill level was down in this fight at their career ends-A+
6- Field/Tyson a terrible match up due to Field's decline such that he had to announce his retirement. Tyson was in the beginning of his 4 round, 3 ring circus career phase could still crack, so we was very worried over Field health that he mitigated with great toe to toe action before the headbutt that forecast his subsequent reputation as a Billy Goat. That was the first time Tyson ever bled, and like most men, he didn't react well to the sight of his own blood that killed his winning momentum in the fight-B+
7- Bowe/Golota a humorously satisfying beating of Bowe sugared with wretchedly satisfying low blows that the dirty bum Big Dummy couldn't handle anymore than Golota could stop them-A+++
8- Brewster/Laikhovich was powerful club level fighter against a nominal contender that delivered toe to toe action at the lower end of that scale-A
9- Foreman/Lyle with Big George after being ducked by Ali for their rematch making his first official comeback against a very dangerous big punching Lyle starting to come into his own did not disappoint with hard KDs, fuzzy clarity, and a spectacular beatdown by George at the end on par with Dempsey/Firpo-A+++
10-Tyson/Buster was a Big, Strong Growed Man fighting a drugged up zombie. Mike with his clown corner using icewater in rubber gloves for Endswell because the jokers were too clownish to remember to professionally stock their corner a picture postcard of everything wrong with boxing. Sublime irony for Dempsey mentored Mike when suddenly instinctive muscle memory lashed out to drop Buster hard for a Tunney 14 count that allowed him to survive to win the fight 63 years after Dempsey/Tunney 2, enough to make this fight historically significant in spite of the terrible beating Mike took-B+

NB This is the same McVey you claimed lacked guts before you were permanently banned from ESB.lolLast edited by Ivich; 03-29-2023, 12:41 PM.

There exists far more than 25 seconds of Jeffries vs Sharkey II, Joe Jeannette vs. Sam McVey was classic fight. If your read the news reports ( you are selective and generally don't ) you can read about Sam McVey complaining the ref and quitting in separate fights as I stated. ESB? You mean the board where you were banned under the name Tonto52 and other names? You waste my time Tony.

I've read several accounts of the McVey v Jeannette Paris fight probably more than you.
No two of them agree about how many knockdowns there were ,or who scored them.
What they do agree on is McVey ,at the end was totally blinded.
McVey got a terrible beating from Johnson in their last fight before Johnson finished him in the last round.
In later life Johnson said ,"there never was a tougher baby than Sam Mcvey".
McVey's 20 rds draw with Langford in1911 was a savage bout in which both men took tremendous punishment.
Here is Joe Woodman, Langford's manager describing Langford's face after the fight.
"My Sam looked a mess.He had lumps as big as hens eggs on his head. Then McVey came into the dressing room to say a few words.
When McVey left Sam turned to me and said ", "poor McVey,he certainly took a beating didn't he?"
NB Langford stated most of the damage to his face was done by McVey's jab,the punch YOU SAID he didn't have!
My source is Clay Moyle the acknowledged expert on Langford and author of an acclaimed biography of him.
I find it quite sickening that a POS like yourself who swallowed his prick when I, a then 63 years old man, took you up on your challenge to a fight, should question McVey's courage!
Are you still claiming you aren't banned from ESB?
Do I need to get JT to again confirm it here, as he has once already?Last edited by Ivich; 03-29-2023, 05:40 PM.
