By sticking a jab in his face for 15 rounds, and not getting hit back.

Are you talking about a Prime Muhammad Ali who was almost impossible to hit with a clean punch?

Or the version of Ali after his 3 1/2 year lay-off?

If it was that easy, why was wasn't Liston ( who has a longer reach than Wladimir) able to land his jab regularly? Wladimir is too flat footed to deal with someone as mobile and quick handed as Ali, who's foot speed and head movement would neutralize his jab. Once that is taken away, Wladimir doesn't have much else to rely on. One thing i noticed about Wladimir is that he can't punch on the move and never throws his right hand unless he knows where his opponent's head will be and that would be his downfall. Ali was kind of vulnerable to left hooks but Wladimir doesn't throw it regularly (in fear of being countered) so i can't help but to expect him not throwing it against Ali. I'd say Ali frustrates Wlad early, avoids the big shots, starts to plant his feet more as the rounds go on and stops him when hes exhausted in the later rounds.

Vitali would do much better because the more looser boxer of the two and has a higher work rate, but i still see him losing a decision (although competitive) Lennox, who's feet doesn't have to be planted to get full leverage on his shots and is a better counter puncher than Wladimir ( and is a more fluent boxer), would give Ali much more problems.

So why did you post a video of how Muhammad was able to avoid Floyd Patterson's jab? What does that have to do with how he would deal with Wlad's jab?

I didn't say it was easy, but Wlad was a far superior boxer in every facet of his game to Sonny Liston. Wlad WOULD land the jab, he would land it consistently and Muhammad would find it difficult to land anything of his own without that jab or sneaky left hook cracking him every time he tried to get inside. If Ali ran, Wlad would stalk him, cut off the ring, and deal with him how he's dealt with boxers like Chambers and Byrd. Softening them up with jab, unloading with straight and the left hook as the punishment wore on.

The fighter we see in that video is earnie Terrel who was 6' 6½" A better comparison than Chris Bird who fought in a completely different style, as well as lacking the skillset of ALi. Wladimir's Jab is predictable and robotic whereas Ali's "snake lick" Jab will be more effective.
