A prime Tyson would beat any version of foreman.foreman looked spectacular against fighters with glass jaws, but in Tyson he'd be fighting a greater puncher and someone who can take a punch.

You don't even know what a split decision actually is.There is no way of predicting a judges's scorecard,so why even bother doing so?

Douglas gave Tyson an absolute pasting. The fact that Tyson was still on his feet at the time of the knockout is a testament to his durability and courage.
Tyson went out on his shield, like a real man.frazier would have quit on his stool after five.Last edited by prinzemanspopa; 06-14-2010, 03:36 PM.

It is generally thought that any fighter coming towards Foreman (i.e. Frazier, Tyson, Dempsey or Marciano) do not stand a chance, im not totally convinced by this as mentioned before Lyle did well against foreman and Morrison beat him. Even without those examples i dont think its right to say "this style has no chance against foreman".

What is with the criticism of Frazier?? He didnt want to quit in Manila, Futch stopped the fight, infact recently ESPN sat down with Frazier and watched the fight, they asked him point blank if it was his call would be willing to die to go out for the 15th against Ali and he said yes...I believe him. There are things you can criticize Frazier for, courage and determination are not among them in my opinion. He got up 6 times against Foreman, and in the 2nd Foreman fight the corner threw in the towel after he got up from a knockdown.
Also isnt it obvious when someone predicts a split decision win it means a very close fight? Isnt it even more obvious that you cant exactly predict a judges card? So if were talking about a fantasy matchup thats not expected to end in a knockout should we call it a draw or award a newspaper decision? I really dont understand were you're coming from with that point, its even more impossible to have Foreman and Tyson in their primes face eachother than to predict a scorecard...unless a time machine has been invented that I dont know about.

To beat Foreman in his prime Tyson would need to stick to a gameplan perfectly and be exceptional with his timing to offset George's size. He would also need to hold back the guns for a few rounds until Foreman slowed. No way after Rooney was canned could Mike have done this.

old Foreman is too slow to pull off a Frazier win.
His style was much more layed back as well.
Look at him vs the 5'5 qawi, though tough as nails, would have been put away quicktime had it been a young George.
Tyson would Hit George so much they'd stop the fight via TKO. Especially cause it was Tyson too.
I would never count George out though, or what he decides to do. I just feel in the 90's he didn't have the speed to beat any of the top fighters anymore, even a past it Tyson.
Put them up against eachother prime for prime, might have to go for Foreman.
I don't think Tyson's downfall has anything to do with losing Rooney etc etc, he simply was an uneducated man with a lot of money who made ****** decisions.Last edited by them_apples; 06-14-2010, 08:10 PM.

As far as your prediction of a Mike-Joe fight.....no way its a blow out like the Marvis fight. If Tyson can't get Frazier out in 3 Frazier is going to impose his will and stop Tyson on 10 after dishing out a one sided beating. Tyson has never reacted well to adversity. Nothing makes me think he would do it against one of the toughest fighters ever.
