What is your opinion of Lennox Lewis?

whatever. people dont like Golota becasue hes insane(at least in the ring), and for that I cant really blame you, but the guy was a talented heavyweight. if the Bowe fights dont tell you that, then you should look to later in his career when he was past his prime and yet still deserved decisions over Chris Byrd and Ruiz.(who sadly were top fighters around at the time)

and Ive seen Bowe in better condition in other fights, particularly the 1st Holyfield fight, but to pretend he was 'shot' in the Golota fights is ******.

I think he's a top 15 ATG Heavyweight. Maybe you could squeeze him into the top 10 but I wouldn't. He ruled when all the all time great 90's heavyweights were leaving and got wins over them before they left and when he lost it when the division lost it's swag.

He barely beat Vital, he would have lost if not for the cuts and thats why he didn't want a rematch. He had some very good wins and gets my up most respect. He was a dog and fought some of the best names at Heavyweight even though they were past their primes. His losses are what hurt him because then you have to ask, what if Lewis fought these greats and their primes? Surely if he got KO'd by lesser fighters like Rahman & McCall, surely they would KO him right? That tends to be the thinking.

He was a very good heavyweight but fighting the good ones past their primes and getting KTFO on occasion puts him in the top 15. He did rule for a very long time before & past his prime but the past his prime opposition kind of hurts him here I think.

Bowe was clearly past his prime before ever getting in the ring with Golota... Andrew stands no chance in hell with a '92 Bowe.

^^^This is the main reason why I rank Lennox so high. Lennox was considered prime throughout his career but guys like Bowe burn out at 28? When you say a 28 year old is past his prime, something is clearly wrong.

its obvious he caught tyson and holyfield past their best. even though he avenged his ko losses that still is a minus because he made those bums famous. couldnt finish a 1 eyed mummy vitali, other then that a devastating puncher in the right era.

Id like to see this list of 10 Hws you have ranked over Lewis. I guarantee most have unavenged losses and the ones that dont never defended a title past the age of 33.

Age has a miniscule relevancy when discussing a fighter's prime, but of course you wouldn't know that.

IMO after his fight with Jesse Ferguson he started going down hill, he took way too many shots to the head over his entire boxing career and it was clearly taking it's toll.

Watch his post fight interviews and after each fight you will notice with words start slurring and he mutters more and it gets worse fight after fight.

He could not stay out of the fridge either and he never took training seriously apart from in 91' and 92', Eddie Futch and the other trainers he had hated him for it, by 96' Bowe's reflexes were shot to **** because of how he was eating and his lack of training add to that he was un-motivated, he was a shot (and punch drunk) boxer 3 years after his peak.

Just wish he would hang up the gloves already, his last fight was in 08' on the Wlad undercard and he's thinking of making a comeback again, silly Bowe.
