Carnera had as much skill and better power than Wlad, Carnera fought the best possible opponents whereas Wlad only fights tomato cans and loses to any fighter who can pop him on the chin something Carnera & Willard would have no trouble achieving
sonny im starting to think you mafia connections.calling canera a stiff would be disrespectful to stiffs.

so in the 100 years since jack johnson fought you somehow belive that nobody was able to build on his groundwork and become a more skilled fighter??thats like saying charles naismith is the greatest bball player who ever lived.

and at 130-135,absolutely nobody beats floyd

theres no such thing as an unbeatable fighter.charles or robinson wouldnt have a snowballs chance in hell of beating jones nor would pep or saddler beat pernell
This is just a horrible, uninformed and unintelligent post. All of it.

I think you guys are arguing a bit to black and white here. There are great skilled fighter's today and great skilled fighter's in the past. In the past there was more because the sport was more popular, but I think if you were to write up a list of top fighter's for each division you would find at least a few fighter's from each decade making the list.

That said it's pointless to compare a current figher's greatness to a past fighter's greatness, you really have to wait until his career has came to an end and the entirety of his achievements can be reviewed. Doing so otherwise can make you look silly later on (See Sonnyboy's post about the Nat Fleischer article from 1970 before the fight of the century, I'd imagine if he was around today he would have a very different view).

This is nut hugging the past at it's best.
