Why not? If he stays on top of 147 for a few years, he can.

And by on staying on top, I mean taking on the real competition, not doing what Leonard was doing at 160-168 after he beat Hagler. I mean doing what Hagler or Hopkins were doing at 160. He does not even need to do it or 10 years. 5 would be plenty. He would have done what Leonard never did, stay somewhere, take on all comers, and dominate .

b/c hes fought a string of shot fighters and none challeengers.

floyd took on two #1 WWs, floyd fought much better opposition.

DLH, Clottey, and cotto are all BS wins for pac and history will judge accurately

Whoooah Sonny that is a bold statement!
I think if he beats Mayweather it should cement him in most top 20 pfp atg's but lets not overshoot here.
Personally i'd like him to hang around at welter and string as few defences together as I like a fighter to dominate a division rather than pick up titles but thats probably a bias of mine.

I thought this was a thread about Pacquiao and Leonard.

Leonard did his fair share of cherrypicking and negotiating bs (including the most spectacular case of opponent weightdraining for the Lalonde fight), he even has a fake retirement in his resume!

I think alot of casual Boxing fans are going to put Mayweather over Leonard if he beats Pacman.

I think Pac-Cottoa happening at 145 instead of 147 does take away from pac's win.
I also think that since that fight was allowed to continue to the 12th round , Cotto should have been given his right to last the distance which I think he could.
I also feel Pac should fight Mosley first as he's old and then Mayweather accepting the drug tests (if he can allow it to himself).
And after these rematch Cotto at some 149 or 150 new catchweight.
                Then facing Williams.
If he stops them all legitimately and legally I will consider him greater than Leonard P4P , despite I barely recognize his win over Cotto.
Cotto agreed for those terms for financial reasons of course , no need to blame him.
And Cotto was also damaged by Margachito before Pac drained him to that weight.

Pacquiao is at the tail-end of his career he has no more than 2 fights left in him yet you want him to fight in another 3 weight divisions against a bunch of hasbeens who he would crucify.. all your posts are ****in ****** and make laughable reading they are on a par with Postman P**** posts

Pacquiao should fight Bradley then retire.

Its hard trying to rank Leonard or pac, due to all the background details surrounding thier fights. But a win over Bradley should even things up imo. Cant see the Mayweather fight happening either

The DLH win is a worthless win given the circumstances. The Cotto win is diminished but still a good win as although he wasn't the prime Cotto we know and love but he is still regarded as a legit top WW currently. The Clottey win is as legit of a WW win as you can get, better than any win Floyd has at 147 in my opinion.

Anyways on point about PacMan surpassing SRL, I really think he needs to fight Mayweather to overtake SRL. He could surpass him by dominating 147 for a few years and retiring but given that he says he only wants to fight a few more fights he needs to take down the only guy whose name also has ATG associated with it.
