  • What Does Pacquiao Have To Do, To Surpass Ray Leonard?

In terms of greatness, or has he already surpassed Leonard in your opinion as a ATG?

If not what does he have to do?

Beat more top welterweights or take Bradley's belt at light welterweight.

It's close now but that would cement it.

Taking out Mayweather, Bradley, and a few more top welterweights would make him TOP 5 last 40 years and arguably TOP 5 all-time.

He won't ever surpass Ray Leonard on my ATG list.
      (If I made one )

Something he has not done since 2003.

Fight (and convincingly beat) someone who

          1) is elite
          2) at a healthy weight
          3) has not been dominated in his last big fight.

And I am not very big on Leonard.

I already think he should rank higher than Leonard. Leonard had a remarkably short career for how much talent he had and the people he beat.

Pac's been around longer and done more.

That's what makes it close. But SRL did beat Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler. Pac needs a little more to be clearly above SRL.

I dont think Pac has far to go to be in that league of ATG. A clear victory over Mayweather would go some way!

One of my favorite fighters to watch fight. I think I watched Leonard-Hearns like 10 times.

That being said, he was a businessman. I love watching him. I think he is a superb fighter. I have a hard time picking any welterweight to beat him.
However in terms of greatness, he is below Robinson, Charles, Benny Leonard and others I can think of.
