I agree, I think if he beats Floyd that will complete his legacy. Then give it 10 years and people will be talking about him in glowing terms.

Fight (and convincingly beat) someone who

        1) is elite
        2) at a healthy weight
        3) has not been dominated in his last big fight.

And I am not very big on Leonard.
        OMG THIS IS THE Truth

Honestly, SRL has wins over Hearns, Benitez, Duran and Hagler. All 4 of those guys are top 50 or so of all time, with Duran in the top 10 and Hagler in the top 20.

Pacquiao hasn't beat anyone like that.

I dont care who he beats if he does beat Floyd. And really Pac is that far up the list to challenge SRL? I had no idea. Not on my list but to each his own.

                Morales
                Marquez
                Barrera
                Delahoya
                Cotto
                Hatton

all these guys will be ranked in the Top 10 All time of their division yet Pacquiao beat them... Leonard lost to Duran, Duran quit in their 2nd fight and was `shot` in their 3rd fight, Leonard beat Hearns then was very fortunate to get a draw with Hearns in their 2nd fight

The way people nit pick Pacquiao's best wins to make them look less significant you can do that with two of Leonard's best wins, Duran II and Hagler.

Duran bloated and was not ready for the fight, even Leonard has said that's why he wanted the rematch so quickly after the first fight, he knew Duran didn't take care of himself after fights.

Hagler had been through some brutal wars and was past his best, and conceded to every demand Leonard made.

Do these factors diminish those wins? No, but it shows he can be picked apart just like everyone always wants to do with Pacquiao's wins.

You can pick holes in pretty much any fighters record no matter how great they are

Its a shame that some fans do this, instead of focusing on the incredible things the fighter has done

SRL's wins over Benitez, Duran, Hearns and Hagler surpass Pzc's wins over Morales, Marquez and Barrera BUT Pacquiao has been more active, and has had belts from Flyweight to Welter. The Clottey win, for example, wasn't "great" but Clottey is a quality Welterweight.

So what counts more: SRL's 4 great wins or Pac's very good wins plus a wins over a lot quality opponents, plus going up from Flyweight to Welterweight.

I think that right now a good case can be made for both men. Cleaning out the Welterweight division would, IMO, put Pac clearly above SRL.
