There have been some very well thought out insights into a Holmes Versus Foreman contest here so far. I would suggest that from the "get-go" we assume the best of each man: A berzerker, heavy handed, physically strong as an oxe Foreman with punches that could do damage in an instant...A surgically precise jabbing holmes with precise lateral movement to avoid return fire and a chin that could take a real heavyweight puncher's shot.
I would give it to Holmes. George lost to Young....Young was very good and beat Ali! It tells us that George was vulnerable to a good boxer.
Holmes never fought a puncher as gifted, or as versatile as George, but he did show he could get hit and box his way out of trouble.
