What if George Foreman and Larry Holmes fought each other during their primes,who do you think would have won?



As for me,if Foreman doesn't knockout Holmes in the first 3 to 5 rounds,I'd give it to Holmes by UD or TKO in the late rounds.

Yea, Holmes by decision.........he would have a scary ride though, would certainly lose some rounds particularly early, may well touch the canvas enroute too.

Hmm. Good matchup. Holmes took big shots so I know he doesn't have a chin problem, he was would probably be able to stay outside and away from the big shots for the decision.

Could go either way. Unlike Shavers Foreman wouldn't be going anywhere so he could potentially stop Holmes. If Foreman doesn't stop him Holmes would win.

Foreman would brutally knock out Holmes, Larry`s greatest career win was against Cooney or Norton both of whom Foreman destroyed, Foreman had one of the very best & underated jabs in heavyweight history.. Holmes jab was quicker but carried nothing like the power that Foremans jab carried, Holmes was very susceptible to big punchers, Shavers, Weaver, Tyson all had him on the floor, Foreman would not let him off the hook, Foreman was excellent at cutting off the ring as Muhammad Ali found out in Zaire and Holmes aint no Muhammad Ali.. i see this fight lasting less than 5rds with Foreman winning by KO

yes , a young foreman would have stopped a young holmes , and both were born in 1949 , so it is hard to understand why they have never fought each other.
holmes had no problem facing mike weaver and james smith twice each when young and when old , and both were somewhat younger than himself.
foreman had a better chin than shavers , hit about as hard , and was bigger which would have helped him landing on holmes.
holmes fights against the previous 175lbs spinks were a disgrace for him as well as his fight against the older and somewhat smaller norton.
if they gave him problems , a young foreman would have beaten him brutally.

Just like i said in the Tyson vs Holmes thread,this would be a great great fight and could go either way.

Muhammad Ali said Foreman cut the ring on him better than any fighter he ever faced.So Holmes would have to be on the move early,and move and move.It could actually be Holmes who tires first in this fight.I see Foreman cutting the ring and going to the body in the early rounds,while Holmes fires back with both his left jab and straight right hand,and landing on George.

Whoever tires out first is going to get beat.Holmes by UD or late round TKO.Foreman by TKO or KO from rounds 4-7.This would be a great great fight!!
