If Ali were never stripped of his title in 1967, could he have beaten Louis' record?

You really felt the need to put the same message in two threads?

It's close but it looks like more people believe Muhammad Ali would have broken Joe Louis's record.

              HAHAHAHAHA!

Did someone here say that Billy Con would last 6 rounds with George Foreman?

Didn't he start out in his pro career fighting at a weight that today would be equivalent to Welter?

It doesn't matter "where you start" your carreer at.

Jimmy Ellis started as a middleweight and became heavyweight champion.

I believe Gene Tunney began at middleweight also.

I'm sure there are many other examples.

Jimmy Young never fought anywhere near the modern equivalent of Welterweight.

It matters where you start out when we are talking about this kind of weight difference. What we need to disprove this idea is examples of a man starting off around 140 (well actually 130) and then talking on a guy like George Foreman.

Missing the point, which is a fast powder-puff punching fighter embarassed big George.
