I think many of the name in that list could beat Robinson IMO (Greb would be one of those I believe), but stopping him... different story.

You could very well be right. Burley, when not have problems with his hands could punch though. He did have enough power to lay Elmer "Violent" Ray out cold in sparring with one punch after Ray tried to get rough and show him up. Im not saying it would happen, but I'd give him a chance.

I'd say Ketchel, Moore and Charles have the best chances. Ketchel and Moore were great punchers, Charles had power, speed and skills at his very best so he would be a very dangerous fight for Robinson.

Early 1950's Moore could repeat what Maxim did except even without the heat. He was great at wearing down opponents over 15 rounds.

Burley was indeed a very dangerous fighter. It's hard to determine this, I don't think it's completely impossible, but I see Robinson being tough enough to not stay down, unless he was caught by some big hitter from a higher weight class. At welter-middle, I can see him getting knocked down, but out I don't know, he seemed to always get up, even when he was way past his prime.

For me Robinson prime was from his lightweight days right up until the joey maxim fight
Archie Moore. In fact, I'd bank on him stopping Robinson.

Not sure why you'd match him with LHWs, I think he was past his prime by the time he moved up that high, and if you did, I'd include guys like Bob Foster, maybe Dwight Muhammad Qawi or Matthew Saad Muhammad.

And Tommy Hearns or Tito Trinidad at WW maybe.

Just throwing them in the mix, not saying they'd stop SRR.

I share your surprise on the 175ers being there, but I think that the TS included them as a tribute to Robinson toughness.

Both Hearns and Tito would get obliterated IMO. They were never dominant MWs, Robinson was, and while they might have had some power advantage, Robinson was leagues ahead in terms of chin.

I agree it is very hard to determine. Im basing my opinion on Burley's power to ko much bigger men and the testimonial of Men like Eddie Futch, who held Burley in such high regard. Like I said I give him a chance, but who the hell really knows.

Looking at the options on the poll I'd give Moore a good chance at Light Heavy of KO'ing SRR, Charles at Light Heavy but maybe not at middle. Can't see any of those KO'ing SRR at welter or middle to be honest but I think with a lenient referee Greb would have a good chance at TKO'ing SRR. Ketchell had incredible power but Robinson had one hell of a good chin. Few options on there I wouldn't even put at the races, Conn was a fantastic fighter but stopping SRR? No chance.
