It's hard to evaluate Villa. His legacy is a combination of the win over Wilde, and the incredibly large number of fights given his age at his untimely death. He usually got the nod over Pacquiao for Filipino fighters until recently. I would probably go with Galaxy as the #2 currently.

Im partial to Fighting Harada for the 2 spot. But admittedly I am not well versed with Galaxy's career or opponents.

Both wins over Jofre were debatable. Barrera was not generally considered the best in 03 BTW...Hopkins and Jones still dominated debate.

Some would debate them but they were wins for him. Close, but clear wins. The first one was much closer than the second one anyway. Great fights though.

I have within my collection of memorabilia, 3 framed telegrams that were sent to Freddie Mills as 'Good Luck' messages, b4 his 1944 fight with Bert Gilroy.. One of them in fact, is from his Mother! I believe they were at one time, in the posession of an Australian, because each one has been signed by Johnny Famechon, and I was amazed at the fine quality of his handwriting.. Much like his fighting style, it is neat, precise and accurate.. Just thought I'd share that with you...

Still, that's cool. Yeah, his fighting was very precise. Amazing defense. He had that shoulder roll down pat, and was impossible to catch in the corner. He had some of the slipperiest ducking, spinning etc. I've seen by any fighter. A real underrated defensive specialist.
