I hear the Jofre wins, but let's not forget that despite what revisonist history may tell us when Pacquiao beat Barrera, Barrera was generally considered to be the best boxer p4p in the sport (I know, I know, MAB had faded, but Jofre wasn't exactly fresh out of the gate). I'm not trying to belittle Jofre, but he gets overrated I think as a "pet" favorite (Mike McCallum comes to mind as well) due to being overlooked and ignored by the casual boxing fan. Besides, not to sound too modernist, the disputed draw and later win over JMM, wins over Morales in their 2nd and 3rd fights, and the Hatton win to me are at least comparable with 2 wins over Jofre.

Both wins over Jofre were debatable. Barrera was not generally considered the best in 03 BTW...Hopkins and Jones still dominated debate.

Yeah, maybe according to Ring, I stand corrected. But I think MAB deserved the status over Hopkins and Jones, and I daresay most serious, non-bias boxing fans would agree. It would be a challenge to name Hopkins' opponents after Trinidad in '01 and before DLH in 2004 (I think Joppy was in there somewhere) they were so insignificant, and everyone has talked about RJJ's opposition. In any case, I'll take Pacquiao's MAB win over Harada's Jofre win any day of the week.

If Pacquiao loses his next 3 fights this all changes very quickly.

I disagree. If he is the greatest Asian fighter now it has to be based on what he's already accomplished. Nothing can erase that, especially considering how far in weight he has climbed successfully.

Pacquiao clearly at this point. Other mentions would be Galaxy, Harada, maybe Tszyu (who was mostly Asian blooded).

Not the best, but I think Pancho Villa has to rank pretty high.

It's hard to evaluate Villa. His legacy is a combination of the win over Wilde, and the incredibly large number of fights given his age at his untimely death. He usually got the nod over Pacquiao for Filipino fighters until recently. I would probably go with Galaxy as the #2 currently.
