    Is Canelo An ATG? Great?

    With wins over
    Angulo
    Golovkin
    Charlo
    Trout
    Plant
    Saunders
    Lara
    Jacobs
    Cotto
    Mosely
    Munguia
    Smith
    Cintron
    Baldomir
    Kovalev

Is that enough to make Alvarez an all time great?
If he is in what division does that apply?

I'm dissapointed he didn't fight Benavidez, but,at 35 maybe he doesn't want that smoke?

He looked flat against Scull imo,and again, imo, Crawford's chances have increased, but regardless of the outcome of that fight is Canelo already an ATG or only another Great?

For his era he would be. Meaning what he accomplished in this era.

    h2h all time he’s a 6 round fighter.

he get’s blown out early by guys like Foster, Moore, Charles, Tunney etc and gets the absolute breaks beat off of him by Greb.

Langford I won’t even consider that one, Canelo might be killed.

just my opinion though. Canelo is 180 lbs on fight night so he’ll never be a middleweight - which means he’s gotta be matched against his equivalent

if Saul is ALL TIME Great, he's in the shallow end of greatness with his mentor Oscar

Saul has a great resume but misleading record

ggg beat Saul at least once

Erislandy and Trout at least drew with him

totally agree, he's lost 3-4 times. he got protected. Lara beat him, GGG beat him twice realistically, Canelo didn't even win the second one, he just did better - the first one GGG won by a wide margin. Mayweather did beat him - Trout I had Canelo winning.

As far as eye test, I think he is very good, a deserving future HOFer. Though all time great is tricky because everyone seems to have a different definition for that one, and where they draw the line varries.

The thing that bothers me with his resume, is though it is filled with big names, every future HOFer he beat, was past their prime- all were 35 or older. And unlike other fighters, who worked their way up to that status, and had an early career of fighting big tough fighters in their prime before getting big names who were old. Canelo has been given big name old fighters since the jump.

This isnt to say that he isnt a great fighter- just that the resume part can be misleading without context.

              Of course, absolutely.

              No question about that.

I rather Usyk as the face of boxing than Saul

Saul went life and death too often in his biggest fights neither Mayweather dominating nor Manny destroying the opponents

Saul 8-4’d old guys Miguel and Gennady, Kovalev was up on the cards

The other spectre hanging over him is the PED issue.
