I went with Steward and Roach. Nearly voted Dundee instead of Roach.

Dundee had the ability to inspire and communicate with his fighter during tough fights maybe better than anyone, a principal strength. "You're blowing it son," is not exactly equivocal, nor is it exactly advice, but precise communication of great importance.

I think people often do not rate him highly because he was not much known for teaching a deep foundation in technique. He was more willing to work with what he found without changing it too much. Whereas D'Amato was the exact opposite. He wanted you to fight the D'Amato style.

        - - Goldman made Rocky into something akin to a slugging cutie. Walcott, Ez, and Archie scouted Rocky's fights and saw an easy win, but Rocky was entering his ultimate perfection phase.

Training everyone the same way is a no , no,imo . Teddy Atlas took over the day to day regime of Tyson.

Dundee was a great corner man, but an average trainer imo

I voted for Blackburn because I love the stories I hear about his relationship with Louis. Plus he (besides Georgie Benton,) is the only great boxer on the list.

(I need to look up Charley Goldman. I am ignorant as to who he is).

I voted for Futch for the samd reason, 'great relationship' with Frazier.

I don't like the stories I have heard about D'Amato spoiling Tyson.

I love Ray Acel's history as well but you got to question his influence when he let Duran enter Leonard II so terribly unprepared.

              Where's William 'Billy' Delaney's name?
It's not Arcel's fault that Duran went back to Panama, gained 50lbs, & refused to train until it was too late, & tried to use laxatives to lose weight.

Certainly not his fault. I agree. Maybe it isn't fair that Arcel was given such a troubled fighter to deal with.

But the OP said pick two. I just think of Futch and Blackburn as 'the way it should be.' They seem like they had a perfect relationship with their fighters. Many trainers can train a fighter physically but only some can make the fighter more than the sum of his parts.

                Arcel was one of them.

(Incert Hager's relationship with the Brothers Petronelli here as well. Great relationship.)

I probably would have chosen Arcel third because of his pedigree.

I remember reading that Arcel got the 'lead pipe' from the mob in 1953 because he would not play ball with the IBC. He retired for two decades until Carbo and crew were already incarcerated.

Because Duran already had an official manager in Carlos Eleta, and Eleta has his own mob ties, Arcel was never listed as Duran's official guy and he never owned a part of Duran's contract.

But nevertheless it was Arcel who actually trained Duran to greatness starting in 1973.

It was Freddie Brown, Duran's trainer and cut man who suggested Arcel to Eleta. To Eleta's credit he embraced Arcel, stating he needed Arcel to finish Duran into a polished fighter.

Arcel/Eleta/Brown turned Duran into the premire fighter of the 1970s.

Then Duran became a 'million dollar' fighter and they seem to have lost influence over him. A sad, but common boxing story.

                  - - LooneyTunes Teddy lasted barely more than a nanosecond on Cus' team before he got the boot for putting a gun to 16-17 yr old Tyson's noggin.

Tried to do the same to Donny Lalonde but couldn't find him in Teddy's looney moment.

Needed institutional residency to protect the public...

Atlas was with Cus for 8 years before that. Tyson is a POS who was bailed out , for preying on young girls by D'Amato , because he wanted another heavyweight champ and nothing was going to stand in the way of that.
Not even indecently assaulting a minor, who happened to be Atlas' niece.

Atlas has character, Tyson does not.
