He did beat Trinidad. And now Tito sucks legacy from the man who obviously beat his ass.

I was a huge fan of Tito, but the De La Hoya and Hopkins fights definitely diminished his place in my personal HOF.

Hoya was not much of a ducker. His number of fights is a shade too small for ATG status. I rate him as a Great though.

I had never been that keen on Felix, whose weaknesses were put on full display by the mobile Hoya.

          - - TBE TUE needed a split decision to win the fight after cowering on the ropes most of the fight. Worse, he cra ck daddy say Oscar won.

Ducked the lucrative rematch to announce his retirement days before the fight at a lengthy presser in what can only be described as a sobbing mental breakdown with mucous streaming our his nostrils that he kept wiping with a towel before wiping his face with the towel.

Enter Manny who salvaged Oscar's $ubstantial Promotion on short notice, jumping 2 weight classes to pulverize Oscar into retirement and fishnets.

Oscar did a lot for boxers by making most all his stable substantial $$$...

Helps to be witness to the events talked about...

At the end I was so disappointed with Trinidad's work that I didn't even rejoice when the judges gave it to him
Opposite for me. I thought Oscar would win easy and it basically was easy. But when the decision was announced I felt like he got what he deserved

Because he ran in the last rounds, or for other reasons?

I don't think so, if anything if effects Oscar's legacy (Tito fight)

Oscar lost that fight for himself, and it wasn't a robbery. He has nobody to blame but himself.

That was one of the biggest fights in WW history, and, he lost it.

Tito doesn't get critique for that, in my view.

I see your point. But, at the end of the day, while I agree with you that De La Hoya lost the fight by himself in a way, the scorecards should have been in his favor. Even if he ran like a rabbit in the final third of the fight, he still won the majority of rounds, except for the judges.
