    Is Mayweather A Divisional Goat?

Is Mayweather a divisional GOAT? What was his best division and why was he, or was he not that Division's GOAT?

You can make the argument for him at 130 with Arguello & Chavez

No. Too many top ranked fighters missing from resume and his best win at 130 was a weight-drained Corrales still recovering from bronchitis. Got a gift versus Castillo at 135 for LW title. Avoided Mosley and others at 135 as well. Gatti washed up at 140 when they fought and he was never an elite level fighter. No elite fighters at 147 at their best, weight drained Canelo at catchweight.

I can't rate Mayweather because he was a talented fighter who avoided all risks to preserve his health and make the most money. good for him, not for us. That to me tells me he ain't a real fighter. He had one chance in life to make money with the cards he was dealt and thats all he planned on doing. probably saw a lot of ****ed up fighters as well growing up. it is what it is.

Would he have beat other fellow ATG's. very likely not. Whenever competition got ever so stiffer he certainly did not shine.

          His toughest competition was:

1: not that tough (aging De La Hoya, Past it pacman (already sparked cold and wasn't looking that good) and Maidana

2: all 3 of these fights he could have lost, if one turns the commentating off. So the question has already been answered.

I agree with others, you could argue at 130- the PBF time he was possibly the greatest ever at that weight (he and Arguello).
Too short of a run at LW, and his lightweight version isnt as good as Duran, Leonard, or Pea (especially with longevity mixed in). I personally thought his best in the ring version was the 140 version, and had he stayed there I think he couldve passed up JCC, but moved up to welter- and he aint the best there.

What a flat out retarded post.

Also, not what the thread starter even asked you.

Is English not your first language or are you just galactically stupid?

One thing that is probably true is that in the old days he never would have escaped boxing undefeated--too much competition and a much rougher fighting schedule. No one went undefeated other than Rocco for a career until new divisions came and fighters like Mayweather and Calzaghe had more control over their careers. I might accept that Mayweather is 130 lbs. GOAT. Not intimately familiar with that division, however. It has a short history, so there is less competition in a division with less than half the history. He will not have to face any truly old time fighter or their style. Who does Floyd have to beat at 130 to become the GOAT there?
