Do you think Harry Greb was the most aggressive of the historically noteworthy fighters?

Greb also was able to fight so much by fighting light heavies and heavyweights. Since you made your money by fighting frequently back in the day- he actually made a fair bit doing this. Having a 50 ko record when half your oponents are 1-2 full weight classes higher should tell you he wasnāt really feather fisted. It was rare anyone said he couldnāt hit.

Do you think Greb was even moreso than these? I know we've read about him being aggressive, do you think he was more than these? If not who was the most?DeeMoney likes this.

just to clarify - compufraud is a dude with a clicker in his hand and is usually inaccurate .
usually used in vegas with conjunction of paid off commentators. They attempt to use āpunch statsā and dialog to give them more breathing room if a robbery is needed.

Oh, there were many fights where the ref wasn't the sole judge in the decision making ( not no decision fights ) that Greb fought in. There is no known film of Greb in the ring vs an opponent, but I bet the Brits archived parts of the Walker fight film so in theory there is. If you want to research and uncover new ground for Greb, search the British film archives as Walker was their man. My $.02

they really didnāt want a MW to be HW champion. Not with the new cameras and all that. Huge money to be made
Tunney really only had his number when he was a broken man riddled with injuries. Even the ref asked what was wrong.Last edited by them_apples; 07-25-2025, 08:05 AM.

By all accounts he had great stamina and was every active and aggressive. But there are also accounts of him clinching a lot and using dirty tactics. Booed quite a bit outside of his home turf of Pittsburgh. Lots of names come to mind when discussing aggressive styles...Marciano, Dempsey, Pacquiao, Chavez, Mayorga, Margarito, Qawi, Barrera, so many more.DeeMoney likes this.

You come across as a fan boy or a color-line crusader. We have enough of them around here.
You got good shlt to write about and you are one of the very few who actually practices the game.
Don't let yourself be baited by the crusaders and fan boys.
Don't demean a fighter to boost up another. It is ugly.
Re bold: And while the fight game has always involved corrupt players, there never has been organized conspiracies, to keep MW away from the title; not even the color-line was an organized conspiracy.
Follow the money.
