I am actually fascinated why men feel it's important to persist with long running feuds on the internet from a psychological persepctive. The optimal outcome is that the person you are arguing with will stop and say "you have convinced me and I now think you are 100% correct". We know how unlikely this outcome is but even if it came to pass I very much doubt it would give the opposing party much satisfaction.

A society that requires polite collaboration probably leaves aggressive men looking for relatively consequence-free outlets for confrontation such as the internet also.
