  • Mike McCallum has died at 68.

It’s with sadness I have learned that one of the great fighters of my generation and arguably a top 2 all time at LMW has passed away.

That one punch not only destroyed Curry ... it also may have beaten Hagler, Hearns, Duran and Leonard at the same time. RIP Mike. https://ringobserver.com/biofile-mik...lum-interview/

Wow. 67-68 seem to be very common numbers among champion boxers.

Early reports say he was driving to the gym when he may have had a heart attack.

If so, it means he was still active and wasn't suffering like so many others had, e.g. SRR, Ali.

It looks like his ticker gave out. Maybe, not at all boxing related.

A tough fighter! I thought he edged James Toney who was a favorite of the judges, but his age and wear and tear had him settling for an official draw.

His match up with fellow ko artist Julian Jackson was short but memorable.
