  • Tyson v Foreman who wins in 1991?

Would the Tyson who beat Ruddock have beaten the Foreman who fought Holyfield?

  • #2
    Foreman.

Tyson is not stopping him and George always had the worst syle possible for short swarmers who had to get in range.

Foreman would take punishment in the first four or five rounds then Tyson would tire and George would land an uppercut that deposits him into the Oort cloud.

Ruddock was good but George is simply on another planet.

I see your point but look at Tommy Morrison. He didn't really have the style to beat Foreman, but he turned boxer and won on points. Could Tyson have done this too?

It's possible but George was already really feeling his age by late '93 and had deteriorated significantly.

Yes he beat Moorer later but was miles behind.

Plus the Foreman of '91 gave an absolutely prime, undefeated Holy sheer Hell (7 is an atg round).

And I am not sure Mike had the discipline to change his style that drastically.

Morrison turned into Usain Bolt for that match with George, I think Tyson had too much pride to do that.

        Good discussion.

Iv got a feeling Tyson would have stopped him in 91. He still had enough speed and power to do the job in my opinion. What a fight it would have been though.

While a prime Foreman from the '70s destroys Mike in the same way he did Frazier, the old Foreman of the '90s was just so slow I can't see him dealing with Tyson's speed.

Tyson was still too fast at that point for Foreman.

See, Foreman versus Morrison & Holyfield.

                - - Slugger Tommy on he bike the whole fight with his back turned.

In 91 Mike KO Razor Ruddock and then beat him up in the rematch.

Big George KOs Razor both times.

They couldn't fight in 91 because...

                1. DKing control Tyson
                2. Not enough $$$ close to matching the $22mil split purse the Chinese were offering in 89 before Tiananmen Square massacre...simples...
