Prime Hearns v prime Norris at 154.

I think this is the ultimate nightmare for Terry (who I rank third at the weight behind McCallum at second).

At 147 -154 Tommy had a solid chin (despite popular perception) so what can Norris do?

He is not faster than Hearns who is impossible to outbox and then that ballistic missile right hand lands.

It's simply a matter of time.

Why make such a diputs thread? Glass-jawed Norris? I suppose he had a pretty goo chin too.

He is very well regarded despite it all.

I don't think it is that bad a topic.

Norris was stopped only twice (I am ignoring his last two fights.) Once by the very hard hitting Julian Jackson and once by Simon Brown.

Brown, who everyone thought at the time was finished, put Norris down with a jab. Norris never recovered and was stopped early in the next round.

I think it was us watching Brown put him down with the jab that got Norris the bad reputation.

(Being stopped by Jackson doesn't get you a bad reputation; accused of having a weak chin.)

Im a big fan of Norris. He in my opinion is terribly (no pun intrnded) underrated. His chin was not the best but he was still pretty good defensively. He was fast, powerful and had very good punch selection. That said, I gotta go with Hearns. But if Tommy doesn't get him out early it would be an interesting fight with some fireworks.

It ends like Hearns vs Duran. Norris gets knocked out face-first.

Two different levels of fighter, simple as that. I don't think Hearns would have been troubled by fighters like Troy Waters as Norris was (great fight, though!).

You're right, but Watrrs was a tough guy. He gave Simon Brown hell as well and beat some good, albeit not great fighters in his career.

Yes, Waters was definitely a hard nut to crack. Still, I think a well-prepared Hearns would have dealt with him quick enough.
