Remember what the great W.C. Fields said, "I spent half my money on g-ambling, women, and booze. The other half I wasted."
I wasn't able to find the over-under bet I wanted to make. I was only going to go $100 on both T-rump and Harris. I was certain the EC wouldn't be close; I knew there was a trend; I just couldn't tell which way.
Ironically if I has made the bet, "over 300" I would right at this moment still be sweating out AZ and Nevada . lolLast edited by Willie Pep 229; 11-07-2024, 12:55 PM.billeau2 likes this.

But seriously. I did not think the election would be close, and... while people love to denigrate the traders, They knew better as well! Unlike the slick lobbyists, pollsters and academics with no basic reasoning skills... I am an academic but despise my peer group. The New York Times, and many papers saw fit to discourage Americans from what was perhaps the only way to have a meaningful vote, through the betting lines... They went into details about basic info regarding the Futures market... NOT ONE of these papers, academics, etc saw fit to look at the importance of: Consensus thinking, the profile of a typical individual who trades for money on commodities. Glaring omission!
There is a reason why the Futures markets are excellent predicitive sources for information and none of these pundits could be bothered to even look in that direction. But those of us who do have some experience that way know... Options and Futures are darwinistic environments on steroids! People who are dumb get kicked out... fast... People who use their own money to trade MAKE sure their information is good! And once you look at that info you get an "aha!" moment.
Harris only had a chance if the cheat was in... Bid en allegedlly flipped like 3 states with absantee ballots. Most people, like the New York Times encourages, look at the dynamics of the situation, voting machines, etc... The smart money? asks "what is the probability of a candidate flipping 3 states he is behind in, with absentee ballots at the last minute?
As a society we are losing our ability to think... Having two sons this scares me!Last edited by billeau2; 11-07-2024, 01:17 PM.
