I suppose people just admire knockout artists and always will.

    • Scoring: The three ringside judges scored the fight 119-105, 119-107, and 119-107, all for Calzaghe.
    • Blows: Calzaghe landed 351 blows to Lacy's 116.
^^^^^ This is what I mean about professional boxing being turned into amateur boxing. If Calzaghe wanted to slap like a sixteen-year-old gurl he should have stayed in the ammies and not contributed to the ruin of the professional game. Dismissed.

Okay I agree, Fighters should try hard to cause the other guy brain damage and the crowds should only cheer when there is lots of blood coming out of their heads. In fact, I am sure you will agree, we should bring back the colleseum and get prisoners to fight tigers to the death as that will really be popular. I think we would all be happier watching boxing if we were guarenteed some brain damage in both men or else we should demand our money back as without it we may as well be watching womens dressage not hardcore boxing.
I think many people will agree with you. It simply aint entertainment unless at least one man is in some form of coma. kudos to you for pointing that out!

Just say you don't like professional boxing and be done with it. Just don't say it like you're a raging ho mophobe. Funny how you're posting in the HISTORY section when 99% of professional boxing history is in stark contrast to the pitty-pat amateur game you like so much. You can now join my signature list for being a fu cking idiot and wasting my time with your bullsh it

You're both guilty of reductio ad absurdum.

There s a center position to this debate, but neither of you wants to see it.

                • Joe Frazier vs Ken Norton.
                • George Foreman vs Earnie Shavers.
                • Rid**** Bowe vs Mike Tyson.
                • Holmes vs Foreman
these fights may not seem as scintillating now by many but in actual real time as it was in the 70's and 80's these fights would have been great.
shavers was known as the hardest puncher and matching him with foreman would have been huge around 1975.
frazier vs norton at the peak time around 75 would also have been great for fans.
foreman i put in quite a few fights because if you take ali out of it he was not known for his jab and holmes was a master of the jab. would have been a crowd for sure. i am talking about 70's foreman.
bowe was so big that some felt before he lost to gallota he would possibly beat iron mike.
when mike ruled the heavyweight division many felt bowe could handle him better then anyone. These fights i think would've been huge ppv fights in the day.
I also read that vitali vs holyfeild would have been huge.
                do you agree at all?
https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...-a9432441.html this is a good article about marciano vs ali computer fight outcome.

I really love you choice of froch vs calzaghe i missed that one. that would have been a stadium filler in the UK. Both are beloved fighters in the UK.

Can you think of other match ups that never got made despite fans desperate to see that fight? And who's fault do you think it was that they never fought. Was it the promoter or one fighter being too scared or was it the mandatory that got in the way of what we wanted to see.
Can you guys think of match ups that fans were eager to see but never got made leaving us gutted? If you can think of fights give a reason who you think is to blame for it never happening as it is usually someones fault.

                      - - Super Joe's last two fights where he made his US debut, he had Poppy crawling around on the canvas yelping like a kicked cur and then made Roy's mug into a butchered mess.

Not bad for a fighter with broken hands for most of his career.
