  • Boxing Au Naturel

Hammy is going to know some of this stuff. First let me say I think I would enjoy boxing more and have more trust in it, if everyone came in naturally prepared. No PEDs, no super-oxygenation--just two men who trained really hard, eat good, take vitamins and have at most a nutritionist to advise them of what to put in their bodies.

Just wondering if anyone else feels this way. Would you rather have it as it is now, or au naturel?

More questions. Are there legal PEDs for a boxer to take? I already assume there are no legal steroids--but this is only an assumption, because actually I don't know.

Maybe I am simply too old to readily adapt to a "natural" evolution of boxing. Does anyone else feel the way I do about this? I do not care to see unnatural supermen in the ring, especially against natural men. The problem is you can never be sure. One man might have better masking agents. I remind you I do not know what the hell I am talking about on this subject. That is why I ask for a little help. Maybe I should be asking a psychiatrist.

One more question. Is it possible for PEDs to have more affect on some athletes than others because of physiological differences, producing a gap even if they train equally?

What is true and what isn't??

Do you have any feelings about the topic, or couldn't care less?

There are absolutely legal PEDs, in its most basic terms a performance enhancing PEDs are just anything you ingest that has a physiological effect on your body that makes you better athletically or in your athletic endeavor. So taking ritalin, if it helps you focus more to study your opponent, thats a PED, taking pain killers as anti-inflammatory thats a PED.

Now I know you probably were writing more towards those things specifically designed to increase athletic abilities (strength, speed, endurance, etc); once again, plenty of legal ones. There are a lot of natural blends and dietary supplements (creatine, etc) that could technically be deemed as such. Even some synthetically created supplements that are perfectly legal.

As far as your last question, as far as impact gap. Absolutely, some people are more genetically predisposed to see better results from equal training, some worse. PEDs are the same way.

I think its an interesting topic, and one that most people just through a blanket response at, ("PEDs are bad and should not be allowed") without studying he nuances and realizing that there are plenty of legal PEDs that we expect athletes, and people everyday to use. There should be a logical, non arbitrary, line that we draw with these things as to what is acceptable and what not. Ad implied with the OP, vitamins are acceptable, but maybe someone 140 years back would've been offended with that, maybe someone before them wouldve thought it wrong to trim the fat off the steak. Or the first person to wear a weighted vest while training at altitude. I think its a good topic to broach.

“With today’s sophisticated microdosing techniques, traces of illegal PEDs can vanish from a fighter’s system within 24 to 48 hours.” (The Guardian)

The reason Greek athletes were nude was because two 'gender-identfying male' sisters completed incognito, and won some events.

Exposed, they faced death but the male athletes intervened.

Henceforth all participants had to show their testicles.

                So goes the legend.

I am not sure, if we know, if they actually competed nude.

Greeks did believe a large penis to be vulgar (barbarians had big d-icks, civilized men were more human, less animal.)

They use to pull the foreskin over the tip and tie it closed with a ribbon. Maybe that's how they competed. (That don't do shlt for your balls though.)

P.S. That is why Michelangelo's David has such a small penis and an extremely large second metatarsal. Both traits are seen as representations of heroic Greek perfection.

P.S.S. Those damn WOKES have been f-ucking with this shlt for a long time now.

What was the OP about again? I think I'm a bit off topic.
